Calm Sunny Day after the Wind Storm

Wednesday is the day Im referring to, although today is another beautiful sunny day.
Tuesday was windy, but not the wind dust storm we had on Monday.
Where did the mountains go?

Nasty Nasty Wind Storm... but it was very warm.   We know that because we had to turn the Air Conditioner on.  Everyone seemed to be held up inside.

The wind became so strong, our shelter was swaying.  So Jeff ventured outside long enough to move the truck beside the shelter and strap it down.

Thank you Jeffrey

Wednesday we were back to the beautiful calm sunny days we are here for.  We went for a long walk, and late afternoon Duane and Louise came over for games, chat, snacks, and a fire after dark.  Silly me... I didnt think to take a picture until it was dark!

We had a great time, and Jeff and I learned a new way to play Mexican Train... the Escapee way.  Of course, Louise also got to learn a new way... the Right way! (or at least the Bright way) LOL
Actually, we really enjoyed this new way to play.  We will teach family and friends this new way and see what they think.

This weekend (Thur-Sun) is the Rockhound Roundup at the Deming Fairgrounds.  We plan to go probably tomorrow.  It is a Gem and Mineral show and Duane and Louise are a part of it with the club they belong to.  They showed us some of their collection.  They have a Toyhauler but their Toy is not a motorcycle, its a shop for all his rock and wood projects.  These are two very talented and busy people.

So thats it for now.  All of you be careful out there, and ENJOY LIFE!

  1. O.K. you will have to teach us how to play Mexican Train, since we don't know what that is.
That looks like quite some wind! Glad you didn't lose anything. Looking forward to meeting you guys when you're back here in Oregon.

  2. Whoa, that is some nasty dusty wind. Hope the worst is over. I have heard several bloggers refer to Mexican Train. I'm afraid I don't know what that is. Guess I better check it out!

  4. Good to see four of our friends enjoying Mexican Train....We always say the "Escapee" method is the fast game....don't have the time to waste counting those dots, etc....

That sand storm looked nasty...I think I would have been worried about running the AC in that mess.

Looks like your guys are having a good time....hope to cross paths again soon!

  5. Looks like fun was had by all. We love Mexican train. Everyone you meet have their own way of playing, but that is what makes it so much fun. You had dust, we had rain. A few days of bad storms all the way round.

    Ingredients

½ cup Queens Quinoa 100% Quinoa Flour

    2 tablespoon Ghee

    4 to 5 tablespoon sugar/ jiggery

    1 cup water

    Chopped almonds, Cashews and raisins

    ½ teaspoon Cardamom powder

    Preparation

    Heat Ghee in a PAN

    Add 100 % Quinoa Flour

Sauté till the flour changes its color to little less than brown. Keep the flame on med-low as this tends to burn easily if put on a high flame. Keep an eye on it and keep stirring

Add sugar and still keep stirring till the ghee leaves the sides

    Add cardamom powder

Garnish with more cashews and raisins and serve hot
